Tamil Nadu, Tirunelveli, May 6: As part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and improve emergency response capabilities, Tirunelveli City Police have introduced several key initiatives. Among them, dedicated two-wheeler patrol units have been deployed across the city’s police stations.
Each of the seven police stations in Tirunelveli has been assigned one two-wheeler patrol vehicle, with two vehicles allocated to Palayamkottai Police Station, bringing the total to nine patrol units. These patrol teams are manned by trained officers equipped with advanced firearms to respond swiftly to any threat or emergency situation.
On May 6, 2025, the armed patrol personnel participated in specialized firearms training and live shooting exercises at the Cheranmahadevi Firing Range. The session focused on enhancing operational readiness, marksmanship, and tactical response skills.
This initiative reflects the city police’s commitment to maintaining law and order while preparing officers to respond effectively to modern policing challenges.
