Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, October 24, 2025: In a commendable initiative aimed at restoring public trust and ensuring prompt grievance redressal, the Tirunelveli District Police successfully traced and returned 100 lost mobile phones to their rightful owners. The total value of the recovered devices is estimated at ₹17,82,773.
The initiative was carried out under the direct supervision of Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police, Shri N. Silambarasan, I.P.S, and the close monitoring of Additional Superintendent of Police (Cyber Crime Division), Shri P.P. Murugan, along with the Police Inspector, Cyber Crime, Smt. V. Rama.
The recovered mobile phones were formally handed over to the owners during a special event held at the District Police Office, Tirunelveli, on October 24, 2025. The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the police for their dedicated efforts in retrieving their valuable belongings.
SP N. Silambarasan, I.P.S., highlighted that the Cyber Crime Police Division has been working tirelessly to trace lost or stolen mobile phones through advanced digital tracking tools and coordination with service providers. He emphasized that timely reporting by the public plays a crucial role in successful recovery.

So far this year, the Tirunelveli District Cyber Crime Police Department has successfully recovered and returned 404 mobile phones to their owners — a testament to the efficiency, commitment, and public-service-oriented approach of the district police.
